2nd BRG Handicap Day - July 7 2007 - Gallery & Results
The second Bushranger Golf Handicap Day was held at Waterford Valley Golf Course in Melbourne's east. In a thrilling finish, Ross Mitchell won the event with 38 hard earned stableford points in very testing conditions. Having set out in the first group of the day, he posted a score and then kicked back in the clubhouse by the fire and watched his challenges, one by one, straggle home to the comfort of the 19th hole. His main challenge came from Crocko-Diddio, the winner of the inaugural Handicap Day two months ago at Growling Frog.
After a blistering opening 15 holes that included two birdies, the Diddio had the title all but wrapped up and then completely imploded on the closing three holes with a triple double finish to lose by one shot. One shot further back on 36 points was Slammin' Sammy and then is was daylight to Arbeige in fourth place as the damp and chilly conditions played havoc with the equilibrium of nearly all the remaining Bushrangers. Below are the results and final placings.

We were pleased to welcome six players with new BRG Handicaps (one of which was the winner) and a number more who are in the process and will have their handicaps finalised in time for our next event. It was also a historic day with the first female compeitor in a BRG event, Elaine Kwok, teeing it up to score her fifth and final card for her handicap.
The next BRG event is the 3rd Handicap Day on August 10th at the 13th Beach Golf Links. This event is the start of a three day golfing bonanza as it serves as the warm up for the 2007 William Buckley Classic (WBC) being staged at the same venue on that weekend of August 11 and 12. Packages are available for competiors looking to play in both events.
