BRG Handicap Day - May 25 2008 - Gallery & Results
The fourth Bushranger Golf Handicap Day for 2008 was held at the Goonawarra Golf Club in overcast but calm conditions with just a zephyr of breeze bobbing up on the opening holes. At the finish, after all the Bushrangers had holstered their weapons, Paul Toll had made off with a thrilling one-shot victory. He piled on a tremendous nett 7 under par 65 to hold off the fast finishing Big Mick Van Raay and new member Rod Piper who finished tied for 2nd with nett 6 under par 66. The suave Seve Mileo sidled in to fourth place with a focussed display of ball-striking and BRG Player of the Year leader Warwick "Boo" Sonehouse tied with new member Richard Bastow for fifth. The final results are below and the standings for the BRG POY have been updated.

The next BRG event will be the 5th Handicap Day for the year at Eynesbury Golf Course on Saturday June 14 from 10:00 am. For more info, watch out for news items and keep an eye on the Event Schedule and the Handicap Day page. Below is a small gallery of images with some of the special highlights of the day at Goonawarra.
Leo Vassos, Mark Gemmola and Pana Vassos prepare to lead off the event.
Joe Baily, Richard Bastow, Pablo Armes and well-known rogue Davisd Regespurger posing off near the first tee.
Matthew Thomas (long drive), Rod Piper (2nd), Paul Toll (winner) and Dave McAdam (7th) make up the most successful four of the day.
Da King lends a regal flavour to this portrait of group four: Boo, Zark, Xu & Crocko-Diddio-Maximo.
Meanwhile, Arbeige spreads his wings in the middle of group six between Andrew Jennings, Louise Tornérhielm and Rob Lugton.
Peter Fox, Wayne Schimmelbusch, Peter Kenneally and Gary Reid prepare to take on The Goon.
Da Kingo (aka The King) rips a monster fairway metal onto the green from downtown on the par five 8th hole.
David McAdam shows off his handy work on the Par four third green where he smacked his approach from 155 out to here. In case you are wondering, yes, he made the birdie putt.
Boo, Xu, Crocko and Zark heading don the short and winding road to the green at the par three 10th hole.
Roger pitches onto the 11th green to set up a birdie after an outrageous drive where he took on the water hazard guarding the dogleg.
Da King and Seve casually going about their business on the fairway of the par five 12th hole.
Seve looking good at impact on the tee of the stunning short par four 13th hole.
Da King watching another golf ball in pain sailing down the fairway - this time from the tee of the 13th hole.
This fancy drift-parking by the tee of the par five 15th hole was immediately followed by a groovy 70s-style bonnet-roll by Arbeige.
Seve coming in to the ball for his second shot on the par five 15th hole. He flushed it and ran through the green to set up an eagle opportunity. Da King observes.
