The 2016 Kelly Gang Shootout Results
The 11th Kelly Gang Shootout was held at Rich River Golf Club over the weekend of July 2 & 3, 2016 and was a helmet-full of fun for all involved. Seven unscrupulous teams lined up for a 4-player per team shootout with 2-ball ambrose on the Saturday and 4-ball ambrose on the Sunday making it a 54-hole event. The teams were:
The Glenrowan Hacks: Joel Matthews, Craig Spackman, Roger Templer & John Ashby
The Frosty Beveridges: Shane Morris, Brian Davis, Brett Nichols & Glen Farren
The Corowa Borrowers: Gavan Doran, Robert Hocking, Amy Hocking & Lucy Rudolph
The Benalla Burglars: Mark Henderson, Leon Doyle, Wayne Ball & Darren Nelson
The Jerilderie Gents: Pete Russell, David Tarlinton, Ian Steer & Peter Guille
The Beechworth Boys: Pete Solomou, Paul Himarios, Jimmy Lantides & Dean Mitchell
The Mansfield Wombats: Nick Sutherland, Lee Dodge, Adrian Smithwick & Scott Kidman
When: Saturday & Sunday July 2 & 3
Where: Rich River Golf Club
What: A 36-hole siege for teams of four playing two & four-ball ambrose
Why: For loads of fun, camaraderie, adventure, glory, trophies & prizes
Entry: $380 per person for the KGS package.
Bookings: Anyone can enter and payment is required one month prior
Extras: A warm up event from 11:30am at Shepparton GC on Friday July 1

After a thrilling weekend of golf and jocularity, a great time was had by all and The Mansfield Wombats stole the championship with a super finish to the tournament where they birdied four of the last five holes to run away with the title. Below we see the new champs (Scott Kidman, Lee Dodge, Adrian Smithwick & Nick Sutherland) posing with The Glenrowan Perpetual Trophy.
